A row of ACCA Award trophies awaits their recipients

 
Equity's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) presents the ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus annually. This is the first industry award of its type to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the chorus of a Broadway musical.

    2013 – Pippin

    Actors' Equity Association today announced that Pippin has received the seventh annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. Presented by Equity’s Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA), the ACCA Award is the only industry accolade of its kind to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

    2012 – Newsies

    Newsies, Disney’s popular new musical about a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenage “newsies,” has received Actors' Equity Association’s Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Sixth Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The honor is the only industry accolade of its kind and honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award was presented in the Actors' Equity Association Council Room, overlooking Times Square, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.

    2011 – The Scotsboro Boys

    The Scottsboro Boys will receive Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Fifth Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The honor is the only industry accolade of its kind and honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award will be presented in the Actors' Equity Association Council Room, overlooking Times Square, on Friday, November 18, 2011.

    2009 – West Side Story

    Members of the original Chorus of the Broadway revival of West Side Story have received Equity's Third Annual Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The award, which honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the Chorus of a Broadway musical, was presented on September 22, 2009. Second Vice-President and ACCA Chair Rebecca Kim Jordan made the presentation.

  • ACCA Honors Jean-Paul Richard

    ACCA Honors Jean-Paul Richard

    Jean-Paul Richard, a member of Council since 1991, Second Vice President from 2000-2009 and longtime Chair of the Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs, has received the ACCA Award for Outstanding Contributions to Chorus and his 18 years of work on behalf of those who need the union's protection most. The surprise ceremony took place during the Eastern Regional Board meeting on May 12.

    ACCA Honors Adrian Bailey

    2nd Vice President Jean-Paul Richard presented Mr. Bailey with the first ACCA Spirit Award in recognition of his exemplary work on Broadway. In accepting the engraved crystal award, Mr. Bailey said that he was "surprised," "honored" and "blessed to be a part of this industry and this union." He was "proud of Equity, its work and what it has done for actors."

    It was "96,000" rounds of applause, peals of laughter and heartfelt kudos for the chorus of In The Heights when an overflow crowd gathered in the Equity Council Room on September 23rd for the Second Annual Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus.

    ACCA Honors Louise Foisy

    After 16 years of outstanding and dedicated service to AEA's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA), Louise Foisy received the first ACCA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chorus. This newly instated award had not previously been announced and was a surprise and was given after Legally Blonde won the first ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus on October 23rd at Equity's headquarters in New York City.
