Actors’ Equity Association Endorses Michiganders Curtis Hertel and Kristen McDonald Rivet for Congress

New York -– Actors’ Equity Association announced that Equity’s National Council has voted unanimously on behalf of the more than 51,000 actors and stage managers working in live entertainment to endorse two candidates for the House of Representatives from the State of Michigan: Curtis Hertel (MI07) and Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI08).

“Both of these candidates have fantastic records when it comes to labor and supporting working families,” said Al Vincent Jr., executive director of Actors’ Equity Association. “They are going to bring that energy and empathy to the House when we come together to elect Curtis Hertel and Kristen McDonald Rivet this November.”

These are Equity’s first endorsements for political candidates in the state of Michigan.

Equity’s public policy priorities include defending and protecting the right to collectively bargain, a prevailing wage in the arts, racial justice, a strong minimum wage, stronger federal and state arts funding, gun violence prevention, universal federal health care, tax fairness and LGBTQ non-discrimination protections.
