Characters and parade cast members at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, announced Tuesday their plans to unionize in an effort to secure better wages, safer working conditions and an improved scheduling system, which could result in the group of 1,700 performers joining the ranks of most of the more than 35,000 employees at the park who have already been unionized.
