"We will lend our voice to the important work already underway to protect abortion access"

In a letter to members of Actors’ Equity Association, obtained by Deadline, the union says that the Broadway League’s decision to adopt a “mask optional” policy for audience members beginning in July was “made unilaterally, without input” from the union.

Equity’s public policy priorities include defending and protecting the right to collectively bargain, a prevailing wage in the arts, racial justice and more.

“Senator Schumer has been a critical ally during the pandemic," AEA shared.

The move marks Equity's first endorsement for a candidate for governor of New York.

Actors’ Equity Association pulled back the curtain on its 2022 officer and councilor election results tonight.

"We need the government to recognize that healthcare is a human right. We once again urge Congress to take this matter seriously."

Performers and stage managers were released from agreements they signed to work on four shows that were produced by Scott Rudin after their union, Actors' Equity, filed complaints.

The productions impacted include 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' 'West Side Story,' 'The Iceman Cometh' and 'The Lehman Trilogy,' with the nondisclosure agreement release effective immediately.

All proposals are due by June 30, 2022.
