"The Legacy Robe to me symbolizes exactly what its name says, Legacy and a great honor. It symbolizes years of discipline, passion and pursuit of one’s dreams. A dream truly manifested. It also symbolizes community.
"I truly felt overwhelmed with joy! A rush of emotions came over me and I was immediately reminded of my journey on Broadway and the journey that it took to make my Broadway dreams come true. To be awarded the Legacy Robe in my opinion says a great deal about a person. I have always personally regarded the castmate gifted the Legacy Robe in high esteem as they have usually done several, if not many shows. It tells me that they are not only talented, but a delight to work with since they have been hired over and over again, disciplined, hardworking and passionate about what they do. Most that I have met that have received the Legacy Robe are usually just over all good humans. I remember feeling so much love and excitement in the room and togetherness. I also remember what a privilege and honor it was to meet Mr. Pi Douglass who also received the Legacy Robe from The Wiz in 1975 when it debuted on Broadway. It was truly incredible! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be a part of Broadway History in this way. And yes, I cried happy tears!!"
