“The Legacy Robe and tradition, to me, represents how theatre is such a collaborative entity. How we couldn't create the magic we do without the people around us. Or without the people who came before us.
"It was a surreal experience! I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would be a recipient of this honor. (Especially with only one Broadway credit?!?). I've been so used to being the youngest/most inexperienced in the room for so long that it's crazy to think I'm on the other side of that now. The thing I'll always remember from the ceremony is the cheers and screams from my KPOP company when they announced my name. The joy and support I felt from everyone on that stage... I'll hold onto those feelings for the rest of my life.”

Fun Fact: "Actually! KPOP was an impetus for me to pursue theatre again!
"I was in college studying pre-med when my best friend from school invited me to join the Korean Student Association. It was a group that aimed to share Korean culture with everyone, so I could join even though I'm Chinese. In the spring the university held a concert/festival where all the Asian organizations put on a show to share some of their culture. We did a recreation of the K-pop song 'Wedding Dress' by Taeyang.
It was the first time I danced and performed since High School and it was invigorating! I fell down a rabbit hole of K-Pop and it reignited my love for dance. If I didn't have that experience I might not have taken the leap to New York and thus not have been here at all!"
