Active Assailant / Shooter Plan
Every venue and housing should have a plan for an active assailant/shooter.
As stated in the resource at the bottom of this page, "an active assailant attack could involve, but is not limited to, the following weapons: firearms, edged weapons, vehicles, incendiary devices, explosives and/or chemicals". This plan should address, but not limited to, roles and responsibilities, floor plans and maps, facility emergency access preparedness, emergency communications, procedures for evacuation, lockdown and shelter-in-place, response procedures during an active assailant incident, accountability, recovery and training and exercises.
