What comes next when a stage manager takes the skills developed in the rehearsal room and backstage and applies them to a new professional journey? "What's Next" offers perspectives on this question from eight accomplished professionals who have successfully transferred the skills, experience and expertise developed through stage management into new roles spanning production supervision, general management, higher education, project management, producing, special events and labor representation.
The panel will feature Lisa Dawn Cave, Beverly Jenkins, Ken McGee, Matt Stern, Michael Rico Cohen, Thomas Recktenwald, Karyn Meek and Pamela Remler. Each brings a distinct perspective on navigating career transitions and applying the core competencies of stage management – including leadership, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, organization and the ability to manage complex projects – to new professional opportunities.

Lisa Dawn Cave is the Production Supervisor for Disney's The Lion King and Frozen worldwide. With a career spanning more than three decades in stage management, she has built a distinguished career working across Broadway and international productions with over 25 shows under her belt while remaining deeply committed to advancing equity, access, and opportunity within the theatre industry.

Her commitment to service extends to her work on the Board of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and as an advisor to the Prince Fellowship.
