The National Labor Relations Board has issued a complaint against Casa Bonita's management, alleging it has refused to bargain in good faith while trying to negotiate a contract with workers who voted nearly two years ago to unionize.
The complaint, issued Sept. 29, also alleges that Casa Bonita discriminated against employees for their union activity by reducing shifts, discharging employees, changing training programs and altering job duties.
Casa Bonita entertainers, who include cliff divers, magicians, puppeteers and actors, are represented by Actors' Equity Association, which also represents more than 51,000 professional performers and stage managers working in live theatre across the country.
