Reminder Re Changes in Health Plan:

Don't Lose Your Health Coverage!

Last fall, the Board of Trustees of the Equity-League Health Trust Fund approved several major changes to the Health Plan. These changes were made to safeguard the long-term viability of the Fund. The Board of Trustees faced these tough decisions due to the fact that deficits are still projected for the Health Fund in 2007 and 2008. They had resisted making this change as long as they could, but could not put it off any longer. The Trustees faced a very tough set of choices: reduce coverage, further tighten the Fund's eligibility rules, or require participant contributions for those covered by employment. They chose the latter because it is expected to have the least overall impact on members.

Effective January 1, 2007, in order to commence OR continue Equity-League Health Coverage, you must make a $100 quarterly payment per this schedule:

Contributions are Due: June 1, 2007 September 1, 2007 December 1, 2007 March 1, 2008

For Coverage Beginning: July 1, 2007 October 1, 2007 January 1, 2008 April 1, 2008

1. If you already have health coverage that would normally continue into the next quarter, you will have to choose whether or not to continue your coverage by paying the $100 quarterly premium.

2. If you are just becoming eligible for coverage, you will now have the flexibility to choose between two 12 month Accrual Periods (formerly known as Eligibility Periods) in order to help you decide when your coverage is to begin. A listing of your Benefit Credits (formerly known as weeks of covered employment) will be provided during each Accrual Period. Please note that members' whose coverage is to begin as of January 1, 2008 will no longer have the option to choose between two 12 month Accrual Periods. There will only be one Accrual Period that will determine eligibility under the Plan.

3. As an added feature, online credit card transactions are now being accepted in order to make your payment to the Fund. Please visit our website, www.equityleague.org , and click on the link "Health Care Payments".
